Club Philosophy
The Kings County Soccer Association exists to ensure the opportunity for players of all ages and both genders to participate in organized programs of team play and skill development at a level appropriate for each individual based on ability and commitment and in accordance with the principles of fair play. The Kings County Soccer Association believes that these principles will promote a positive lifelong soccer experience both at the recreational and the competitive levels.
In order to accomplish these goals, the Club will;
1. Provide training opportunities for club coaches to increase their level of competency
2. Provide year round soccer development opportunities by promoting participation at clinics, camps, indoor soccer programs, recreational and competitive programs, regional, provincial and national development programs.
3. Promote training for referees.
4. Invest in quality equipment and field development and maintenance.
5. Work to achieve a safe playing environment for all
6. Promote an offensive style of play
7. Encourage community awareness and participation from parents and interested individuals through volunteering at the club.
Philosophy for each age divisions;.
Under 4 - The U4 division will be play based, not skill based with an emphasis on fun and participation not competition.
Under 6 - U6 should provide an introduction to skills the the emphasis on having fun.
Under 8 - The U8 division will place a proportionate emphasis on skill development, competitiveness, game situation, first steps to positioning, fun and play. Methods will be employed to identify talented players and provide them with enhanced training opportunities. Players will learn to respect referees, teammates, opponents and model fair play.
Under 10 - U10 will place an increased emphasis on competitiveness and skill development. Extra development opportunities will be made available to talented soccer players.
Under 12, 14, 16, 18 - Players in these divisionsmay be separated by gender, level of play and ability. The Club will endeavor to provide house league for recreational players and competitive experiences for elite players at the Division 1 (AA) and Premier (AAA) levels when numbers and talent permit.
Senior - The Club will promote recreational, co-ed and competitive teams when numbers and interest permits.
